2007: PhD from University of Yangon

Profile and publication:
Dr. Thidar Aye, Professor of English Department, University of Yangon, has been teaching for twenty-five years. She obtained her doctoral degree in 2007 from the University of Yangon, submitting the dissertation titled “A comparison of the works of art by Emily Dickinson, USA (1830-1886) and Kyi Aye, Myanmar (1929-2016)”. She is an alumnus of the Brunei-US English Language Enrichment Programme for ASEAN. She completed the two-year Interpreters’ Training Course (2011-2013) conducted by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, Japan. She attended the Lower Mekong Initiative Symposium (Bangkok) in 2014. She was hosted by the Gender Studies Department of the Central European University as Research Fellow in 2016. Her areas of interest are teaching, research, and translation. Her research article “Redesigning the assessment methods in teaching Basic Research Methodology: 0% final closed-book written examination” has been published in the Proceedings of ELT Conference (2019).
