Dr Thin Thin Aye

Bio Data
: Dr. Thin Thin Aye is a distinguished Professor (Head) in the Department of History at the University of Yangon, Myanmar. She completed her academic training at the same institution, earning a BA (Hons), MA, and a doctorate in History. Additionally, she holds a Diploma in International Relations and Development Studies from a collaborative program between John Hopkins University (USA) and Chung Ang University (South Korea).
Her research specializes in Governance and Development Studies, with a particular focus on Myanmar’s governance systems. She has authored numerous articles in prominent scientific journals, reflecting her scholarly impact.
Beyond her research, she contributes to shaping educational frameworks as a Chair of the Curriculum Development Team in History and Chair of the History Board of Studies. She has supervised numerous MA and Ph.D. dissertations and has served as an external examiner at University of Mandalay and other universities.
In her teaching role, Dr. Thin Thin Aye instructs Contemporary Myanmar History at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, emphasizing modern historical and developmental contexts. Her work bridges academic rigor with practical insights into Myanmar’s socio-political landscape.
