My specialization is Anthropology and I finished my BA (Honors) degree in 1987, MA degree in 1994 in Anthropology and PhD in 2004 with specialization in Cultural Anthropology. I have been working in the Anthropology Department at the University of Yangon since 1991. I received departmental research funding from the Ministry of Education in 1996. The departmental research continues year by year. I have supervised MA theses, MRes theses and PhD dissertations. I also conducted international collaborative research with Hanyang University and REDI from the Republic of Korea during 2012 and 2013. At that time, we conducted the “Local Capacity Development Project for Inclusive Development in Myanmar” project. Another international collaborative research has been ongoing since 2014. My research partners are from the Danish Institute for Interntational Studies and also the Department of Anthropology, Aarhus University, and the Enlightenment Myanmar Research Foundation (Local NGO), Myanmar. Our research is “Customary Laws Practised in Myanmar”.
