Dr. Omar Kyaw

Dr. Omar Kyaw is a Pro-Rector, University of Yangon under the Ministry of Education, Myanmar. She is responsible for academic, research affairs and International Relations Office of UY. She graduated from University of Yangon with LL.B (Law) in 1983 and LL.M (International Law) in 1990. Her second LL.M Degree in International Environmental Law was obtained from Iwate University, Japan in 1997. She obtained her LLD Degree in Marine Environmental Law from Hiroshima University, Japan in 2000. She received Japanese government Monbusho scholarship from 1993 to 2000. She started her service life since 1986 at the Ministry of Education and has been in her current position in May 2009. She was a Professor of Law Department in University of Yangon and Mandalay University. She is also a member of the Board of Examiner for PhD Program for Law at the University of Yangon as Referee, supervisor since 2000. She has also served as a Vice-Chair of Law Drafting Group concerned with policy enhancement in higher education sector in Myanmar.
