Dr. San San Khine is an Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations, University of Yangon. She received her B.A (Honours) International Relations (1993), M.A (IR) with Credit (2000), M.Research (IR) (2001), PhD(IR) (2007 February), Diploma in Tourism Studies and Management (2006), Post-grad Diploma in Global English (2010) all from Yangon University.
She joined the Department of International Relations in the University of Yangon as a Tutor in 1998. Her specializations are Non-traditional Security Issues and International Organizations. Currently, she teaches Introduction to International Relations, Foreign Policy, and International Relations in Political Thought to students of International Relations and Political Science.
She has been a fellow at Bard College, New York, United States, studying US Foreign Policy, and at the Australian National University, studying Demographic and Social Research Methods. She was also selected as a Central European University Faculty Research Fellow in 2016.
Her publications are “A Study on China’s Strategies towards Southeast Asia”, Yangon University Research Journal Vol.3, No.1, 2011; “Myanmar-Thai Cooperation in Migrant Workers Issues”, Journal of Myanmar Academy of Arts and Science, Vol.XII, No.9, June 2014; and “Myanmar’s Cooperation in BIMST-EC”, Journal of the Asian Research Centre, Vol. 1, No.1, Asian Research Centre, University of Yangon, 2015. Her ongoing research is on the Peace Process in Myanmar.
