Aye Mya Phyu is an Assistant Lecturer of English Department, University of Yangon. She holds a Bachelor of Art (Honours.) from West Yangon University and a Master’s Degree in English from University of Yangon. As part of her master’s thesis work, she has done the thesis “Devising Exercises from Authentic Materials to Develop Students’ Reading Skills.” She attended Upskilling Programme for Freshly Appointed Tutors of English in 2017 at University of Yangon. Moreover, she also receives Advanced Specialist Certificate (I) in Teaching Reading and Writing, from SEAMEO RELC, Singapore and Teaching Knowledge Test (Cambridge). She has conducted English Language Online Course for Higher Education Teacher (1/2020) and (2/2020) and English for Office Staff Online Course. Her area of professional interest is teaching EFL and ESL learners applying updated language teaching methods and doing activities based on individual differences and needs of students. She has provided term paper supervision to the final year English specialization students from University of Yangon and she has been working in the English language teaching field for over six years. Her great interests lie in teaching Communicative Skills, using technology in language teaching, conducting classroom-based research and giving professional development sessions at the department.
