Daw Lei Kay Thi is a lecturer in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Yangon. She has 25 years’ experience in teaching cultural anthropology and culture and personality. She did research mainly focused on social organization, especially traditional customs, economic habits and religious ceremonies of Kayan, Chin and Goun Shan ethnic groups in Myanmar. In 2012, her work “Reborn in new world: rites of passage in Kong Shan ethnic groups” was published in the Asia Research Journal. She has extensive experience in ethnographic research on the tradition and culture of Myanmar’s ethnic groups. She and her colleagues are currently working on “Indigenous Knowledge on Healthcare Practices of Yin Baw ethnic group, Kayah State in Myanmar in 2017-18”.
